NOV 2-4 – Philly Blitz Weekend

BRV 3rd-5th grade students will head to the Philadelphia Project to serve in their Blitz weekend. A weekend of serving our neighbors in Philadelphia and learning more about how Jesus calls us to serve and love others. Cost is $75 per student.

NOV 3 – Hope Cafe
Register 

Several times a year, Blue Route Vineyard partners with Cityteam, a Christian recovery center in Chester,  to host Hope Café. Hope Café offers a dignified restaurant experience to people facing hunger, homelessness and poverty. Volunteers from BRV will help serve the evening meal to guests.  Volunteers should meet at BRV at 3:15pm and we will carpool together to City Team. In order for BRV to co-host this evening with Cityteam, we need 28 volunteers who will both donate $20 each toward the meal. Ages 14 and up.

NOV 3-4 – BRV Kids Generosity Box Launch Weekend
The generosity box in our sanctuary provides a place for us support BRV’s ministry to people experiencing need in our community each week. We are excited to reveal our new BRVKids friendly version in the lower level as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

NOV 3-4 – BRV Kids Turkey Drive

Beginning the weekend of November 3rd, BRV Kids and Youth will raise money for turkeys! The turkeys will be given to New Hope Philly, a church in the Kingsessing area of Philadelphia.  BRV volunteers will help distribute Thanksgiving baskets and pray for families in the neighborhood on 11/17.

NOV 11 – Family Promise Meal FULL
We will host 4 families from Family Promise for dinner at BRV on Sunday, November 11 from 5-9pm. For over 10 years Family Promise of Delaware County and Interfaith Hospitality Network has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the families struggling with homelessness in our community. 10 BRV volunteers are needed to prepare and serve a meal and spend time playing some games with children.

NOV 11 – Healing on the Streets,  Training Day
Register
The HOTS model is simple yet profound, gentle yet powerful, full of God’s presence and brimming over with love. We create a thin place on the streets where heaven and earth meet, and people can encounter Jesus. Over time we build relationships, creating stepping stones for people to come to Jesus, and be healed along the way. Attending this training is a requirement for participating in our HOTS outreach day (but does not guarantee) on December 15. Ages 14 and up.

NOV 14 – Prayer Walk
If God could work a miracle in your life today? Come and pray to bless our town together from 1-2:15pm. We’ll meet at BRV and walk into town and ask people we meet along the way, “How we can pray for them?”

NOV 15 – Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry Packing Night FULL
BRV volunteers will participate in a food box packing night at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. The pantry is part of the Delco Interfaith Food Assistance Network (DIFAN), and typically serves 1,200 families in the Ridley and Interboro School Districts.  Please join us as we partner with others in our community on Thursday, November 15, from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Meet at Prospect Hill Baptist Church, 703 Lincoln Ave. Age 9 and up.

NOV 16 – Chili Cookoff
BRV annual chili cookoff will be held on Friday, November 16 at 6pm at BRV, 425 W. Front St. This is event is sponsored by the Morrisons Home Team and BRVHeart. $10 per person, Free for kids under 12 years old. Drinks and desserts will be available. Door prizes will be awarded. Any donations for food and prizes are greatly appreciated! Contact Gina Gibbs to enter your chili, to volunteer before, after and during the event, or to donate.

NOV 17 – New Hope Philly Thanksgiving Outreach

BRV Volunteers will partner with New Hope Philly, a ministry in the Kingsessing area of Philadelphia. New Hope Philly is a men’s discipleship ministry commissioned to the work of “building up and sending out of ministers and missionaries.” BRV volunteers will help New Hope Philly members distribute Thanksgiving baskets and pray for families in the community. We will deliver turkey bought with funds raised through BRV Kids turkey drive! Meet at 10am at 5520 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143. Ages 9 and up.

NOV 17 – 20 Years of Stories

Join us for a evening of remembering God’s faithfulness to BRV over 20 years. We’ll enjoy light appetizers, worship and time to share stories of how the Lord has moved through our church. Childcare and pizza dinner provided. (please RSVP to reserve your child’s space no later than 11/12)

NOV 18 – 20th Anniversary Celebration Service

10am at Delaware County Christian School. For the first time since the earliest days, our whole church—all eras, all services—will worship together at the same time, in the same space.

NOV 19-20 – True Love Church Thanksgiving Outreach

We will partner with True Love Church to pack and deliver Thanksgiving baskets for families in the Folcroft area. On Monday, the 19th, we will meet at True Love Church at 412 Folcroft Avenue in Folcroft to help pack the Thanksgiving baskets from 6pm – 9pm. On Tuesday the 20th we will help deliver the baskets and pray for families in the Folcroft area from 4pm – 8pm. We will also deliver homemade pies, baked by our Wednesday women’s small group! You can also sign up to bake a pie as well. Volunteers can sign-up for Monday or Tuesdays evening. Age 14 and up.

NOV 24 – Shop small and bless local businesses.
On Small Business Saturday people are encouraged to do Holiday shopping at local small businesses. So, we’re putting a twist on this to celebrate our 20th. When you’re out and about shopping local,  stop for a meal or a coffee and tip extravagantly! Leave a BRV20!20 card with your tip and enjoy blessing a local small business. Then post about it and hashtag #brv2020. (don’t share how much you tipped, just share your experience or how much you love your favorite local small business.)

NOV 24 –BRV Kids Christmas Toy Drive
BRV Kids will kick-off a Christmas Toy Drive to benefit City Team Ministries in Chester.  We will collect new toys at BRV and deliver them to in time for City Team’s Christmas Outreach.

NOV 25 – Media Santa Parade and Worship
Register
Media is bringing the Christmas season with the Santa Parade and BRV is joining the party! We hanging out at the block party before the parade giving out hot chocolate and meeting our neighbors. Come join the fun at either the 2-3:30 or the 3:30-5 shift, it’s going to be a blast!
