When I was 20 years old, an Austrian carpenter hired me on as his apprentice. I knew next to nothing. But working side by side with him, I learned. It gave me a context later when I started following Jesus. I saw Jesus as an expert, a master at life, someone I could learn from, someone who had a job for me.
Since then, I have tried to help people live as apprentices of Jesus; learning his ways of wisdom and love. My job here is one of the ways I get to do that.
